The Research Journal Club

Abstract
THIS ARTICLE IDENTIFIES the nursing journal club as an important mechanism for the evaluation and utilization of nursing research. It explores the CNS's role in introducing critical appraisal skills and concepts of research utilization to staff. Benner's developmental model for clinical practitioners is suggested as a framework for the appropriate introduction of research. Guidelines for developing and managing a journal club are presented, as well as suggestions for research critique tools and research utilization models. © Williams & Wilkins 1994. All Rights Reserved.
