New Muonic-Atom Test of Vacuum Polarization

Abstract
In order to check the discrepancy between calculation and experiment in muonic atoms, we have remeasured the transitions in Pb and the and the transitions in Ba. Our new results show no discrepancy and confirm recent theoretical calculations of vacuum polarization to within 0.5%.
