Abstract
The Green’s function Monte Carlo and variational methods have been used to calculate the properties of the ground state of two-dimensional liquid and solid described by the HFDHE2 potential. The equation of state, melting freezing transition, radial distribution functions in the liquid and solid, and the momentum distribution in the liquid are all presented. Comparisons are made with three-dimensional and two-dimensional classical systems.
