Differentiating Rorschach Responses of Alcoholics

Abstract
The Rorschach test records of 70 alcoholics were compared with those of other clinical groups. A statistical predilection on the part of the alcoholics is shown to interpret portions of the ink blots as "water." The perceptions included in this content category are defined. The importance of such differentiating content categories as supplementing the tra-ditional formal aspects of the record based largely on the function or mode of perceiving is noted and speculations are advanced as to the root of this predilection.
