Abstract
In this paper, the design and construction of conventional solar stills suitable for different parts of Papau New Guinea (PNG) by using the locally available material has been discussed in detail. A simple cost analysis based on the performance of various solar stills for PNG climatic conditions has been carried out by assuming negligible salvage value. It is observed that (i) FRP solar still is more effective than other solar still, and (ii) Concrete solar still is cost-effective than other solar still. Keywords
