Abstract
Com-parison of the qualitative and quantitative features of the local exudative cellular response in normal and leukemic patients studied by the serial coverslip technique revealed that the initial granulocyte response in patients with leukemia was both delayed and diminished. This feature probably plays a role in the susceptibility of these patients to infection. This study demonstrated further that most leukemic patients respond to inflammation with morphologically mature cells regardless of the immaturity of the peripheral blood or bone marrow. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
