Abstract
Aposymbiotic Xyleborus ferrugineus (F.) (Coleoptera: Scolytidae) was reared through 3 consecutive generations on a holidic diet under aseptic conditions in test tubes. Reproduction is arrhenotokous, and fertilized females yield progeny with a spanandrous sex ratio. Mating behavior leads to continued inbreeding.
