Abstract
We report a detailed study of the inelastic scattering reaction for incident proton energies in the range from 14.2 to 17.3 MeV. It has been found possible to reproduce the experimental results quantitatively using a theoretical analysis incorporating a number of resonant compounds, as well as direct inelastic, scattering amplitudes. Interference effects play an important role and predictions of shell and weak-coupling models are found to be in excellent agreement with the experimental data.
