Electron energy‐loss spectra in and out of specular reflection are reported for C2H2 and C2D2 on Ni(111) which reveal additional information compared to previous results. Based on the comparison of the angular profiles of the loss intensities a new assignment of modes is proposed. The structure of C2H2 does not have any element of symmetry.
