Abstract
Auxin probably functions as a signal for polypeptide chain initiation in higher plant cells. This function presumably requires the participation of an auxin-specific sRNA fraction. Auxin-induced RNA synthesis is assumed to be analogous to amino acid-dependent RNA synthesis in bacterial systems. Auxin thus plays an amino acid-like role in the quantitative regulation of both RNA and protein synthesis. This publication has 18 references indexed in Scilit:
