The Purification of Human Prolactin from Frozen Pituitary Glands

Abstract
A method for the purification of human prolactin from frozen pituitary glands is outlined which permits as many as 1,000 glands to be processed at one time, with a final yield of 40–50 μg prolactin per gland. The prolactin obtained is identical in its chemical characteristics and immunological potency to the most highly purified human prolactin preparations currently available.
