Further Investigations on the Control of the Velvetbean Caterpillar, Anticarsia gemmatilis (Hbn.)

Abstract

Of the 9 insecticides tested in the laboratory for the control of the velvetbean caterpillar only 4, Alorco cryolite, Dutox, Syncrolite, and basic copper arsenate gave good control in the field without damaging the soybean foliage. Basic Cu arsenate exhibited unusual sticking properties and retained its toxicity several weeks after application.
