Abstract
The origin and development of ‘Grasslands Nui’ perennial ryegrass is described, and results presented of spaced-plant experiments and reference to mown sward experiments conducted by Grasslands Division, Palmerston North, and the three regional stations at Kaikohe, Lincoln, and Gore. Comparisons made with ‘Grasslands Ruanui’ perennial ryegrass and ‘Grasslands Ariki’ ryegrass indicate increased production from Nui, especially after dry seasons.
