Reversal of the Spin of Polarized Thermal Neutrons Without Depolarization

Abstract
An inexpensive and versatile magnetic guide field for polarized thermal neutrons is described. Methods are discussed to turn the polarization vector of a beam of polarized thermal neutrons in space and with respect to a magnetic guide field in the wavelength region of 1.0 to 2.0 Å. Within an experimental error of 2% no depolarization was found.
