Abstract
The power plant described was designed for centralized supply of large telephone exchanges. The authors describe the main characteristics of the new plant and of the equipment it contains. They point out the novel features of the plant compared with similarly rated units of earlier conception, underscoring its advantages in terms of safety of management, modularity, adaptability to various types of exchanges and capacity for local and remote diagnoses. Particular emphasis is placed on the use made of a microprocessor for plant management. This device provides full processed data on the operational state of the plant and remotely transmits this information, together with any alarms Author(s) Guglielmo, F.
