Abstract
Two monkeys, Macaca mulatta, performed delayed reactions with delays up to 35 secs. After removal of the prefrontal lobes this ability was lost. Given intraperit. injns. of Nembutal (8-10 mg./kg.) and Dial (25-30 mg./kg.) the animals performed delayed response up to 25 secs. After withdrawal of drugs, one animal continued to perform reliably above chance up to delays of 20 secs. in spite of the typical prefrontal hyperactivity.Keywords
