Studies on Duboisia Species. V. Alkaloids in Cultured Cells of Duboisia leichhardtii

Abstract

Alkaloids in the cultured cells of D. leichhardtii (Solanaceae) were examined. Nicotine and isobutylolytropine were determined as authentic samples by the GLC method and valeroyltropine was estimated by the GC-MS [gas-chromatography-mass spectroscopy] method. Hyoscyamine and scopolamine, the main alkaloids in Duboisia leaves, were not detected.
