Abstract
A general review of the effects of nephritis on exchanges of salt and water within the body and between the body and its external environment, with consideration of their therapeutic implications. Especial emphasis is given to the questions of hyposthenuria and edema. Each of the important electrolytes is discussed in a separate section and there is a short discussion of the problem of renal dwarfism and rickets.
