Novel Highly Oxygenated Bisabolane Sesquiterpenes from Cremanthodium discoideum

Abstract
Five new highly oxygenated bisabolane sesquiterpenes (1−5) were isolated from Cremanthodiumdiscoideum. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic analysis and chemical transformations. The structure and relative stereochemistry of 1 were determined by single-crystal X-ray crystallography on the acetate derivative, 1a. Compound 1 showed antibacterial activity against Bacillusacidilatici and Bacillussubtilis.
