Abstract
During recent years there has been growing awareness of a direct correspondence between the catalytic chemistry of certain transition metals and the reactions of coordination complexes of the same metals. For this reason a better understanding of the reactions of coor-dinatively bound molecules has become a source of interest to catalytic chemists as well as to workers in inorganic and organometallic chemistry. Of reactions discovered to date, those involving palladium and unsaturated compounds are probably the most numerous and varied. A description of these will, therefore, serve to illustrate what has been accomplished and what remains to be accomplished in the investigation of complex reactions.
