Abstract
Three patients who developed pneumatoceles following hydrocarbon pneumonia are reported. The literature on complications occurring in hydrocarbon pneumonitis is reviewed with particular emphasis on tension phenomena and cyst formation. The pathogenesis, course and prognosis are discussed. All 3 patients progressed to complete recovery without evidence of superimposed infection or additional complication. Keywords
