Abstract
It is shown that there is a nonzero ’’optical activity’’ of a beam of polarized neutrons due to its magnetic interaction with the electrons of a closed shell chiral molecule. The effect is entirely general. Estimates of the magnitude of the effect are given in general, and for a polymeric system in particular. Keywords
