A simple method for the isolation of fraction I protein of chloroplasts

Abstract
Application of the standard methods for the preparation of fraction I protein (ribulosediphosphate carboxylase) from spinach leaves gives low yields when applied to other species. Simple methods are described here for the preparation of pure fraction I protein in good yield from spinach, peas, beans, and Chlorella. The electrophoretic mobilities (on polyacrylamide electrophoretograms) of bean and Chlorella fraction I differ from each other and from the mobilities of pea and spinach protein.
