Abstract
The occurrence and amount of some important enzymes of carbohydrate metabolism in Hydrodictvon retlculatum were determined. Triose isomerase with a specific activity between 92 and 110 units was the most important enzyme in extracts. The enzyme with the second highest activity (10-15 units per mg. protein) was diphospho-fructose-aldolase. A triphospho-nucleotide-specific, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase with a specific activity of 4-5 units per mg protein and a lactic acid dehydrogenase with an activity of 1-2 units per mg protein were identified also. The presence of alcohol dehydrogenase, triphosphonucleotide specific triose-phosphate-dehydro -genase and a diphosphonucleotide specific triose-phosphate-dehydro-genase was not established. Data on methods used are given. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
