Abstract
The authors calculate deep inelastic structure functions for a variety of non-topological soliton models of the nucleon. They investigate the dependence of the model structure functions on the quark wavefunctions, and find significant differences between the models, especially in the case of spin-dependent structure functions. Their results also demonstrate that it is possible for an SU(6) symmetric proton wavefunction to yield a spin structure function gip(x) that is in agreement with the experimental results of the EMC.Keywords
