CALCIFICATION OF THE POSTERIOR LONGITUDINAL LIGAMENT: A CAUSE OF CERVICAL MYELOPATHY

Abstract
Calcification of the posterior longitudinal ligament has been reported recently as a cause of cervical myelopathy in Japanese [See Figure in the PDF File] patients. The roentgenologic and clinical changes in 2 Caucasian patients with such calcification are presented and discussed. A search for ligamentous calcifications is advised in patients with signs or symptoms of cervical spinal cord disease.
