Abstract
Human cytomegalovirus US8 is a type I membrane protein that partially colocalizes with cellular endosomal and lysosomal proteins. Although US8 does not have discernible effects on the processing and cell surface distribution of major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I products, we have demonstrated that US8 binds to MHC class I heavy chains in the endoplasmic reticulum. Keywords
