Abstract
Work of F. London on the van der Waals forces between linear dipole molecules has been extended to polyatomic molecules which are representable as symmetrical tops. The results obtained by a second-order perturbation calculation are compared with those of a variational calculation for the specific case of the interaction between two tops in one-quantum states.Keywords
