Abstract
The ability of varying amounts of penicillin or tetracycline to interfere with the growth of trachoma viruses in eggs was studied. Three strains of trachoma viruses isolated in the United States behaved in a reproducible and individual manner toward these drugs. They exhibited a very large range of differences in susceptibility to these 2 antibiotics. The theoretical and practical implications of these findings are discussed. Keywords
