Abstract
The seaweed flora of the coastline near the Biological Station of the University of Bergen, immediately south of Bergen, was studied. The area includes a variety of localities, ranging from highly exposed shores to very sheltered bays. Thirty-eight algae associations in different localities are described. A list of the species recorded is presented together with tables demonstrating the specific composition of the vegetation at various depths within different parts of the area. A comparison is made with observations from other parts of the Norwegian coast.
