Histology of the Reproductive Tracts and Transmission of Sperm in the Corn Earworm, Heliothis zea

Abstract
The histology of the reproductive tracts and their secretions are described. The functioning of various tracts in the elaboration and formation of the spermatophore is given, and the movement of sperm is traced through the male tract during spermatophore formation and through the female tract after copulation. The functions of the various reproductive secretions and the reproductive state of the moths during different reproductive periods are discussed.
