Abstract

THE syndrome of diffuse peripheral neuropathy associated with albuminocytologic dissociation in the spinal fluid has received considerable attention in both American and European literature. The great variety of descriptive terms applied to the condition, — infectious neuronitis, radiculomyelitis, polyneuritis with facial diplegia and acute febrile polyneuritis, to mention a few, — reflects the confusion about the nature and limits of the entity.
