Abstract
The hyperfine interaction of the nucleus with the ion core spins in magnetic crystals provides a relaxation mechanism for the nuclear spins since energy conservation can be obtained by a change in the spin wave energy. In nonconducting magnetic crystals this mechanism may be dominant in the relaxation of the nuclei of the magnetic ions. The relaxation time is calculated for such a nucleus in an antiferromagnetic crystal. Keywords
