Abstract
Mineral oil causes a considerable loss of vitamin A to the animal organism, if the mineral oil is mixed with the vitamin A in the form of butter fat prior to ingestion. The administration of the mineral oil separately from the butter fat results in only a very slight diversion of vitamin A. Moderate increase of the butter fat intake appears to protect the animal from any vitamin A deficiency when the mineral oil is given separately. Keywords
