Two-Particle, Two-Hole States inK40from the Study of theAr40(He3,H3)K40Reaction

Abstract
Differential cross sections for the Ar40(He3,H3)K40 reaction have been measured for a He3 bombarding energy of 17.9 MeV. A comparison is made between the Ar40(He3,H3)K40 data and the K39(d,p)K40 data of Enge et al. to determine the location of some of the two-particle, two-hole states in K40. The angular distributions of 10 triton groups have been obtained. Distorted-wave Born-approximation (DWBA) calculations have been compared with some of these distributions to demonstrate the consistency of spin assignments.
