Renal Tubular Secretion of Magnesium in Dogs.

Abstract
The renal excretion of Mg was studied in 6 dogs using the "stop-flow" technique and Mg -28. The radioactivity consistently appeared in the urine approximately 8 samples prior to the appearance of para -amino hippurate and 16 samples prior to inulin appearance. The evidence strongly suggests that Mg may be secreted by the renal tubule.
