Abstract
A restriction fragment length polymorphism was detected in pig DNA digested with HindIII restriction endonuclease and probed with rabbit .beta.1-globin gene. Different phenotypes (8) were observed and for 6 of them family data demonstrated that they are determined by 3 alleles. As this polymorphism is not found with 4 other restriction endonucleases (BamHI, EcoRI, KpnI and PstI), single point mutations are proposed to explain the observed differences. Keywords
