Abstract
The main component of the 3d factor involved in the virulence-enhancing action of hog gastric mucin was obtained in essentially homogeneous form. It was identified as a heparin by chemical and biological properties. Diffusion coeff., sedimentation constant and partial specific volume were detd. and a mol. wt. of 16,500 obtained.
