THE CRYSTAL STRUCTURES AND ELECTRICAL RESISTIVITIES OF (BEDT-TTF)3(ClO4)2 AND (BEDT-TTF)2ClO4(C4H8O2)

Abstract
The crystal structures of (BEDT-TTF)2ClO4(C4H8O2) and (BEDT-TTF)3(ClO4)2(BEDT-TTF: bis(ethylenedithio)tetrathiafulvalene) were determined. In both crystals, BEDT-TTF molecules are arranged side-by-side. The former is a semiconductor with the room-temperature resistivity of 1 Ω cm. The 3:2 salt undergoes a sharp metal-insulator transition at 170 K.
