A report and appraisal is given of a Conference organized by the Electron Microscope and Analysis Group of the Institute of Physics and the Physical Society, held in the Cambridge University Department of Engineering, 31st March–2nd April, 1965. The main topics covered were: scanning microscopy, electron diffraction and energy analysis, low and high voltage transmission microscopy, mirror and emission microscopy, electron optics, and field-ion microscopy.
