Abstract
Polyurethane films were prepared from toluene diisocyanate (TDI), and poly(propylene-ethylene)glycol without catalyst. These films had a decrease in tensile strength and an increase in ultimate elongation when the TDI content of the polymers was decreased. The effects of aging and accelerated aging on completion of polymerization and on mechanical properties were examined. In the case of accelerated aging samples, complete polymerization with no change in mechanical properties was observed. Blood compatibility tests were carried out and the examination of the surfaces revealed no clotting, aggregation of blood cells, or fibrin formation. Keywords
