Abstract
The attenuation of second sound in rotating resonant cavities containing helium II has been measured in the temperature range °K, and values of Hall and Vinen's parameter have been calculated from these data. The results show that is only slightly temperature dependent, in qualitative agreement with the predictions of Pellam, but in disagreement with the theories of Hall and Vinen and of Lifshitz and Pitaevskii.
