Abstract
Using A. bisexualis [female][female] for the pro-duction of the hormone A that stimulates [male][male] to form antheridial branches, and A. ambisexualis [male][male] as detectors, it is evident that the [male][male] produce a substance, called hormone A'', that augments'' their own response to hormone A. The response of [male][male] increases with increasing number of [male] plants per unit volume of hormone A soln. and also with increasing concs. of [male] filtrate. The variation in response of [male][male] to hormone A depends on rhythmic variation in the amt. of A[image] they produce. This makes 5 known Achlya reproductive hormones.
