Abstract
To the Editor: We present here a one-center analysis of the influence of the kidney recipient's DRw6 phenotype in a population of 145 recipients whose treatment and prospective transfusion regimen have already been reported in detail.1 , 2 A marked increase in the rate of definitive rejection was observed in recipients with HLA-DRw6, as compared with the rate in recipients without DRw6 (Fig. 1) (32 vs. 67 per cent, respectively, at one year). Among recipients without DRw6, no marked "compensatory" enhancing influence of a particular DR phenotype could be noted, although recipients with HLA-DR5 had the best graft outcome at 6 and . . .Keywords
