Abstract
PbSe nanocrystals are grown in a novel phosphate glass that provides a PbSe concentration of up to 0.7 wt.%. The optical absorption edge of the medium can he positioned in the wavelength range 0.6–2.5 µm. Up to five separate quantum transitions are observed with optical absorption spectroscopy. This phosphate glass is a potential material for applications in optical communication and optoelectronic devices. Keywords
