The reaction of nucleic acids with mustard gas

Abstract
It has been found possible to induce reaction between nucleic acids, guanylic acid and mustard gas (H) under mild conditions of pH and temperature. The reaction products of nucleic acids and mustard gas have been isolaged and analyzed. They contain S but no Cl. Possible structures of the H co]mpds. are discussed, and the significance of the results considered in relation to the delayed healing of mustard gas lesions.
