Abstract
An apparatus is described for centrifuging minute amounts of material suspended in a liquid directly onto an electron microscope specimen film. A modified air driven top (Beams and Pickels type) is used, with a groove in the rim of the rotor to receive 2 Duralumin cups of the correct size to hold an 1/8 inch RCA specimen film and a drop of liquid which is placed over it. A force of 100,000 g. is obtained, and the author states that 1,000,000 g. could be obtained by modification of the design. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
