Relation between Bond Length and Stretching Frequency for the Carbonyl Group

Abstract
A plot is shown of bond length vs stretching frequency of the carbonyl group in a series of compounds containing this group. For bond lengths ranging from 1.13 to 1.31A, the average distance of the points from a smooth curve is 0.013A.Keywords
