Elastic and inelastic scattering of 362 MeV polarized protons fromCa40

Abstract
Scattering of 362 MeV polarized protons from Ca40 to the ground, 3 (3.74 MeV), 2+ (3.90 MeV), and 5 (4.49 MeV) states has been studied from 3° to 65° in the laboratory. Measured values of dσ/dΩ and Ay are compared with standard relativistic and nonrelativistic calculations using transition densities from random-phase-approximation calculations and electron scattering data.
