Abstract
The limiting high frequency intrinsic viscosity [η]∞ has been calculated for several models of a freely rotating chain, with and without hydrodynamic interaction. The calculated values of [η]∞ lie far below the experimental values. This indicates that the dominant contribution to [η]∞ does not originate in bond tensions. Keywords
